Designer Profile

“With her signature style of beauty, warmth and comfort, Susannah Talley’s atmospheres are said to: “evoke old world charm with marvelous surprises—always in concert with her clients’ tastes.”

A sole practitioner with a roster of first-rate contractors and dedicated workrooms, Talley offers clients a trained eye for; what pieces should stay, be rejuvenated, or yield to new acquisitions in furniture, fabrics, carpeting and accessories.

Trained at the venerable Roach and Craven on Arlington Street in Boston under the tutelage of George Steele and Brian Balfour, Mrs. Talley went on to win The 1968 National Home Fashions League Award for “Most Impressive Eclecticism in Design,” presented by the league’s director: designer doyenne, Dorothy Waterhouse.

In a decorating career that spans over forty years—and that she notes “keeps me young”—Susannah Talley has earned high ratings in “The Franklin Report” editions as a consummate professional, a designer clients can completely trust to carry out, often expanding, their vision.
